ACCESS TO KUMAMOTO
Since there are limited international direct flights to Kumamoto, it would be one of the choices to come first to Fukuoka via Japan or the Asian international hub airports and then take a Shinkansen bullet train or a limousine bus to get to the venue.

International/Domestic Flights to Kumamoto Airport
Note that there are only 5 international flights directly to Kumamoto.
Therefore, flying to Kumamoto via Tokyo (HND) would be better.

ACCESS TO THE VENUE (KUMAMOTO-JO HALL)
It is more convenient to take a limousine bus from either airport, but you can choose any routes below. After getting off the limousine bus at Kumamoto-Sakuramachi bus terminal, you can find the venue at the second floor of the terminal building.

Overview of the Venue
The limousine bus from both airports arrives at platform #9~#13 of Kumamoto Sakuramachi Bus Terminal, the 1st floor (the ground floor). You can find entrance of the venue upstairs of this building.

You can also get to the Kumamoto-Jo Hall from outside of the bus terminal building “SAKURAMACHI Kumamoto” by just going into the building from the main entrance (shown below), up to the 2nd floor by escalator/elevator, and straightforward through the concourse.
The venue is at downtown of Kumamoto. You can enjoy foods, shopping, souvenirs, Kumamon village, and entertainment at “SAKURAMACHI Kumamoto”. Find more here.

JR Train
- Note that “Japan rail pass” can NOT be used when taking Shinkansen of “Nozomi” and “Mizuho” trains unless you pay additional fare. (It is OK for “Hikari”, “Sakura”, and “Tsubame” trains.)JAPAN RAIL PASS
- Kumamoto Regional Promotion IC card shown below is NOT valid for taking any JR trains.
Tram
- You can pay your boarding fare (180 Yen for 1 adult) by either way such as CASH, Prepaid (Rechargeable) transportation IC card, credit card (Touch to Pay), and QR code at your getting off.Guide | Kumamoto City Tram
Bus
- CASH:It is better to prepare coins to pay fare at your getting off.
- Prepaid(Rechargeable) transportation IC Card:It is more comfortable means to pay fare. However, only Kumamoto Regional Promotion IC card is usable after Nov.16th, 2024. Not valid for such as SUICA, ICOCA, and PASMO, etc. You can get it at Kumamoto airport, or Kumamoto train station.Kumamon no IC Card
- There was an announcement that they will start electronic payment of the fare by the credit card from March 2025.
Limousine Bus
- You can pay fare at your getting off by cash or the credit card above.
- You can get your one-way and/or round-trip ticket at the typical bus terminals BEFORE getting on.
- Generally, no reservation is required.
TAXI
